Back to School Party

Seriously, where did summer go?  I feel like we were just planning out how to spend summer break and now here we are in September!

Marshall starts school next Monday and so we had to throw a little back to school party to kick the school year off right.

We decided to take care of some business and make Marshall’s “grow with me” 1st Day of School shirt.  Every year we will take a picture of Marshall in his class of 2030 shirt, he will slowly grow into the shirt every year and we will add his handprints and grade to the back.  A fun thing to add to his memory box!

Another easy craft we made was his teacher’s first day of school bouquet.  Using a mason jar, cleaned small glass milk bottle, and two packages of magnetic alphabet letters we made a Chicka Chicka Boom Boom inspired vase.

I forgot to take a picture! So here’s a stock photo of what we made.

We talked about expectations for school and our goals we had for the year over our special back to school lunch of sandwich books (with food coloring marker), alphabet cheese-its, and apple slices.

Marshall has been so excited for school, this was a perfect little anticipation builder and a nice way to perk up lunchtime.

Here’s hoping the 2016-2017 school year is everything we could want and more!
